I trained at No.4 Radio School RAF MADLEY
in 1943/44 & eventually flew in Bomber Command. In May 2005 I was given the honour of unveilling the Memorial to those lost during training at Madley and so many more lost in Bomber Command. Have been back since and received a very warm welcome from Louise ~ also still very much in touch with Fiona , author of the excellent book ~ THE STORY of RAF MADLEY I often wonder why the Memorial does not appear in any records of Herefordshire Memorials ??? Bill Williams (Ex. 106 & 97 Sqdns. Bomber Command) P.S. ~ I am still in touch with three that were on the same Course as me at Madley ~ "PRESS ON REGARDLESS" !!! |
